Randall Roonan

Randy received his B. A. from Bethany College in 1974 and his J.D. from the University of Bridgeport/Quinnipiac School of Law in 1980.

 

He is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States District Courts of New Jersey and Connecticut and United States Second and Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before joining Short & Billy, P.C. Mr. Roonan was a partner in the law firm of Graham, Miller, Neandross, Mullin & Roonan, LLC for 25 years. He has dedicated his career to serving the insurance industry and has practiced in the areas of insurance defense and subrogation, products liability defense, marine and inland marine insurance and international and domestic transportation insurance claims.

Randy is a AV rated by Martindale-Hubble, a Proctor Member of Maritime Law Association, a Past Most Loyal Gander of The Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International and presently serves as Editor of its publication, "The Quill."

 

He has served as a member of the Board of Directors and Corporate Secretary of the National Cargo Security Council.

 

Mr. Roonan has lectured and taught courses for the National Association of Marine Bankers, the Air Transport Association, the Inland Marine Underwriters Association, the CIS & Baltic States Security Conference, the National Cargo Security Council, the Transportation Consumer Protection Council, the Institute for International Research, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, Global Maritime and Transportation School, the National Association of Marine Surveyors and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. His publications include contributions to "Guidelines for Cargo Security & Loss Control" and "Subrogation Recovery: Principles & Practices."
